Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 6 mins

Serves 2-4 (kids) people

Ingredients

  • 1 small loaf of bread, slightly stale, is preferable (around 250g)
  • 2 large FREE eggs
  • 200ml milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • To serve
  • 2 bananas
  • Strawberries
  • Other fruit of your choice
  • Yoghurt
  • You will need
  • Air fryer
  • Skewers

Method

  1. Cut the bread into chunky bite-sized cubes and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together the FREE eggs, milk and vanilla until combined.
  2. Add the bread pieces to the bowl and gently toss until all the bread has soaked up the eggy mixture.
  3. Transfer the soaked bread chunks into the air fryer drawer. Lightly grease the drawer first if needed to stop sticking. Cook for 5 minutes, then give the drawer a shake and cook for another 1–2 minutes until golden, crisp and smelling absolutely delicious.
  4. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl, then toss the warm French toast bites straight into the mixture until fully coated in sweet cinnamon goodness.
  5. Slice the bananas into chunky pieces and prepare your strawberries and fruit. Thread the French toast pieces onto skewers with the fruit, alternating colours and shapes to make them extra fun.
  6. Serve piled high on a platter with bowls of yoghurt for dipping and dunking.
  7. TOP TIP: Try not to overcrowd the air fryer drawer so cook in batches if needed to keep French toast crisp and golden not soggy. Want to skip the sugar? Leave out the cinnamon coating and drizzle over a little honey or maple syrup instead.
